Time to learn the tools that will take you to the next level. Spend an afternoon and evening with the guy who actually wrote the book on WDSC, Joe Pluta. Learn how WDSC will make your job easier today, and how EGL will make you a hero in the future.
3:30 PM - WDSC for RPG Programmers. In this fast-paced session you'll see how to do all of your every day programming tasks in WDSC. You'll see that nearly anything you can do in the green screen can be done in WDSC, and some things are much better. Joe will include a few of the secrets that make programming in WDSC so easy that you will never want to go back to SEU.
6:00 PM - Dinner and Networking with your Peers
7:00 PM - EGL and i: Using EGL to Develop System i Applications - EGL (Enterprise Generation Language) is IBM's future direction. EGL is a 4GL that makes it very easy to develop applications. And while you can use EGL all by itself to generate Java and COBOL, for System i programmers EGL really shines when you use it as a front end to an RPG back end. Joe will show you how EGL allows you to combine RPG business logic with SQL statements to create powerful web applications in no time - using a WYSIWYG editor and zero Java code!
